Q: Is there a limit to the number of nominations I can make?

An individual or organization may nominate only one project or initiative for the United States Water Prize per nomination period. For more information regarding nomination of candidates, please view Official Rules.

Q: How are the winners chosen?

The Clean Water America Alliance’s U.S. Water Prize Selection Committee will review all applications in accordance with the guidelines and criteria of the United States Water Prize. The U.S. Water Prize Selection Committee will select up to five nominations to receive a U.S. Water Prize.

Q: My application was not chosen as a winner. Can I submit the same project or initiative again next year?

Yes, we accept repeat applications; however, you must complete a new nomination form each year.

Q: Will articles, publications, reports and multimedia I send in support of my nominee be returned after the judging panel reviews it?

No, information submitted to the prize secretariat will not be returned. 

Q: Will notification be sent to nominees by the Clean Water America Alliance upon receiving their nomination?

Yes, a confirmation will be sent to the nominator and the nominee upon receipt of a complete Prize application package.

Q: Will past winners of the United States Water Prize be eligible to win again in 2012?

Prize winners are ineligible to win the United States Water Prize more than once for the same project or initiative.  However, prize winners may submit an application for a different project or initiative for the 2012 prize.
